Program Outline

Dhrupadāṅgī is an important aspect of Indian Shastriya (classical) dance that is focused on the revival of a lost tradition of Dhrupad Music and Dance. Dhrupadāngī represents the re-construction or re-establishment process of analytic, artistic and aesthetic ‘prayoga’ (application) of the oldest living music form Dhrupad in melody, dance and drama. This Certificate course on Dhrupadāṅgī approach will be a value addition to the dancers and musicians and also to serious learners of ancient and medieval art forms of India. The course will be conducted on weekends in hybrid mode. Aspirants, learners and practitioners of Indian dance or music can join this Certificate course which will deal with the Fundamentals of Dhrupadāṅgī and explorative sessions.
