About The IMS

The Indian Mathematical Society (IMS) is the oldest and the largest Mathematical Society of the Country. Every year, the society organizes its annual conference at different locations of the country. The upcoming 87th Annual Conference of the Indian Mathematical Society will be organized during 4 - 7 December 2021 at Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College, MGM University, Aurangabad. The conference is intended to keep abreast of the latest developments in the field of Mathematics. More details about the IMS can be found at IMS website.

It may be noted that only IMS members will be able to participate in the Conference. IMS has two types of memberships - (i) Life Member and (ii) Sessional Member (Sessional Members are those who join the Society only for a particular Session. They may contribute papers for presentation and/or participate in any of the academic programmes held during the Session). More details are available on IMS website.

About The MGMU

“In a gentle way, you can shake the world.” With this philosophy and ideology of Mahatma Gandhi, MGM established an educational trust in 1982 under the guidance of former Education Minister Shri Kamalkishore Kadam and a group of founder members who are hard-core academicians and visionaries. The Trust established its pioneering institute in the historical city of Aurangabad, home to the heritage sites of Ajanta & Ellora but lacking in premiere educational institutes. For more than four decades, Mahatma Gandhi Mission has blazed a trail of academic excellence and state-of-the-art health care services. A strong dynamic institution that keeps pace with the demands of the modern world, prominent locations and excellent education facilities makes MGM worthwhile and an exciting choice for education. This institution is devoted to extensively impart education and enable the students to stand on their own, strongly believing that “Literary education is of no value if it is not able to build up a sound character.” Read More..

With the vision for imparting quality education MGM initiated a chain of institutes with a spectrum ranging from primary schools to post graduate degrees. MGM has been instrumental in promoting Classical Dance & Music, Art, Culture, Heritage and creativity for art seekers. The Trust has also paid heed to the aspect of physical fitness by converting a vast expanse of land into an ultra-modern facility catering to a multitude of sports. MGM’s lush green and serene campus is conducive to create a peaceful learning atmosphere.

About The JNEC

Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College is a premier institute of engineering that has carved a niche for itself in the field of technical education in a very short span of time. The college has made its presence felt in the world of technical education. Unique in its structure, methods and goals, the college is strongly rooted in the philosophy of training and research that enhances the relationship between knowledge and its application and seeks to promote the creation of an ideal society. The college also provides facilities for research leading to PhD in selected five subjects through its Research Center .JNEC provides a congenial atmosphere for diligent academic pursuits. This has been reflected through the results. Most of our students are among the toppers in various Engineering disciplines. The JNEC is now a part of MGM University from the academic year 2020-21 The college is affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, which confers the degree of Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), Master of Engineering (M.E.) in various disciplines and Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch.). The college also affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University,Lonere which confers the degree of Bachelor of technology (B.Tech.), Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in various disciplines and Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch.), Master of Architecture (M. Arch.). JNEC is the first college in Marathwada to have been accredited by NBA and Council of Architecture.

About Department of Applied Sciences

The Applied Science department was founded in 1983 and serve to cater the basic needs of engineering students at an early stage. The department is committed to provide a sound background of basic science subjects like Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry which is the backbone of all engineering programs. The department aims to develop the curiosity to understand and apply basic science knowledge in the engineering programs. The department has highly qualified and experienced faculty members with specializations in various sub-disciplines of Basic Sciences like Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The department has well equipped laboratories where students have hands on experience with the state-of-the-art facilities. The department is dedicated not only for the excellence in academics but also encourages students for project based and problem-based learning thereby inculcating the practical skills in students.
